A former National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has jumped shop to join forces with the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.
Senator Barnabas Gemade jumped ship from the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to thebjoined Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday.

The respected former lawmaker contested the 2019 general election on the platform of the SDP.

He contested for the Benue North-East senatorial district slot, were he lost to the incumbent Senator Gabriel Suswam of the APC.
He joined the APC in a low key ceremony at the weekend in his village, Gemade Village, Mbajov, Mbawar Council Ward of Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State.
Gemade had left the APC for the SDP shortly before the 2019 general election.
Gemade revealed that he “returned to APC after due consultations with the leadership of the party at the national, state, local and ward levels.”
The Benue State Chairman of the APC, Comrade Abba Yaro, expressed joy over his return while speaking at the occasion.
