Igbomotoru: AGIP,  Dalon Using us as Casualties of War - Women Leader | Daily Report Nigeria

Mrs Ebiyor Akassa , the Leader of the Igbomotoru 11 women forum has faulted the Nigerian Agip Oil Company and Dalon Company for using Igbomotoru indigenes as casualties of war.

In an exclusive statement obtained by Daily Report Nigeria, the vocal Women Leader lamented the inability of the surveillance firm to provide protection for Agip pipelines as well as for indigenes of host companies.

She added that the inefficiency of Dalon Company in rendering it’s services has forced Igbomotoru kingdom to demand for exclusive rights to the surveillance contract for the pipelines in a bid to provide protection for her people.

“Dalon company and Agip continue to use us as casualties of war in any event of their administrative muscle-flexing.

“In this case, we suspect may have blown up the pipeline to draw the attention of Agip to the very reason they should be paid, as they have not been paid for over a year.

“Even when they can’t do the job of securing the pipeline, they don’t miss any opportunity to humiliate, maim and pursue our men and children.

“Enough is Enough.

“It is time for the people who bear the brunt of the security inadequacies of Dalon company to protect the pipeline in their backyard,” she stated.

Mrs Ebiyor also described allegations labeled against Mr Endurance popularly known as General Amagbein as utterly false.

While emphasizing that the move was an attempt of witch-hunt on the revered General, Mrs Akassa reiterated the trust the people of Igbomotoru have for Mr Endurance.

“Mr Endurance alias General Amagbein who is an ex warlord and have received amnesty. He is a very peaceful man, that supports the Igbomotoru clan to succeed in all her undertakings.

“A God sent leader who has supported our clan with supporting the downtrodden without asking for anything in return.

“We are very proud of your exemplary life style.

“It is shameful that people will go about spreading lies, only just to keep a people perpetually down.

“We know General Amagbein and all other people of Igbomotoru kingdom are innocent,” she concluded.

The people of Igbomotoru kingdom in Southern Ijaw local government area of Bayelsa state have been at loggerheads with Agip and Dalon Company over an alleged marginalization.

The situation forced a protest from the people, wherein they sent out a Save Our Soul message to the local, state and federal governments, seeking for a permanent halt on the oppressive antics by the oil multinational.
