Prominent Igbo leaders on Wednesday stormed the National Assembly demanding for the creation of a new state in the South East.
The Igbo encourage led by Chief John Nwodo, former president-general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, asked for the creation of another southeast state from Enugu.
Nwodo who met with key officials of the National Assembly to push for the new state called ‘Adada’, stated the state was already approved at the 2014 national conference.

While responding to their demand during a meeting with the delegation, Senate President Ahmad Lawan said it is a legitimate agitation.
He said; “It is a constitutional and legitimate agitation.”
The delegation included the former Minister of Information and the immediate past President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief John Nnia Nwodo and led by Chief Vita Abba.
