The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Olukayode Egbetokun has withdrawn all police officers attached to the former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello.

The withdrawal was in a circular that also detailed Bello’s name, nationality, and passport number, stating that he had been placed on the watchlist.

Recall that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had declared him wanted for an alleged case of money laundering worth N80.2bn.

Hours later, the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) also placed the Former Governor of Kogi State on its watchlist.

NIS’s statement ordered the public to report any entry or exit point of Bello to the Director of Investigation or contact 08036226329/07039617304 for further action.

The Former Governor is being prosecuted before the Federal High Court Abuja for conspiracy, breach of trust, and money laundering.
