Ijansa/Ijelejele/Ikeremo Elders Council Rejects Caretaker Committee

The Elders Council of Ijansa/Ijelejele/Ikeremo has rejected the appointment of a Caretaker Committee to pilot the affairs of the community.

This was contained in a public statement signed by the duo of Chief Roland Takemebo and Mr. Mark Agbegha on behalf of Elders Council.

The Council said the appointment of a Caretaker Committee by the Pere of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom was ‘undemocratic’ and against agelong practices of the community.

The statement titled “Rejection of Purported Caretaker Committee for Ijansa/Ijelejele/Ikeremo Community” reads;

“The attention of the Elders Council of the Ijansa/Ijelejele/Ikeremo Community has been drawn to the purported setting up of a Care-taker Committee by His Royal Majesty, Mackson Couple Oromoni, the Pere of Ogbe-Ijoh, Warri kingdom for the Ijansa/Ijeleje/Ikeremo Community on Wednesday, 28th May, 2025.

“We the Elders and indeed the entire members of the Ijansa/Ijelejele/Ikeremo community hereby reject the purported Care-taker Committee and all it stands for because it is undemocratic and not in consonance with the age long tradition of our people.

“Therefore, the public is advised to desist from dealing with the Johnbull Aneyanghan led committee as it does not represent the Ijansa/Ijelejele /Ikeremo Community.

“Note that any individual or corporate body that deals with them does so at its own risk.”
