A delegation of influential Ijaw leaders from Delta State’s PDP visited Chief Emmanuel Ogidi, the state party leader, at his country home in Ellu town.

The visit aimed to foster collaboration and rebuilding efforts within the party following Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s defection to the APC with his appointees and party executives.

The Ijaw PDP leadership, led by Chief Sheriff Mulade, unanimously passed a vote of confidence in Ogidi’s leadership. “The Ijaw leadership would join hands with the party state leader to rebuild the party in the state,” they declared.

In response, Ogidi reaffirmed his commitment to revitalizing the party, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts and strategic planning.

The visit demonstrates the Ijaw leaders’ dedication to restructuring the PDP in their local government areas.

Key leaders present included Chief Sheriff Mulade, Comrade Ozobo Austin, Amb. Monday Orua, Comrade Daniel Ezekiel, Tam Okumbiri and others.

This development comes as the PDP announces plans to take legal action over the mass defection, predicting the APC’s collapse.
