The Internet space has been filled up with questions after Ilebaye Odiniya emerged as the winner of the BBNaija AllStars edition 2023 on October 1.
Amongst all, Kachi Ucheagwu, a former contestant on the Ultimate Love reality Television (TV) show questioned the legitimacy of Odiniya’s victory in the just concluded reality show.
The 22-year-old housemate emerged as the winner after nearly 10 weeks in the Big Brother house, claiming the grand prize of N120 million.
Ilebaye, otherwise called Genz baddie garnered 30 percent of the votes cast to defeat her closest rival, Mercy Eke, who secured 23 percent of the votes.
On the micro-blogging platform X, Ucheagwu stated his doubts about Ilebaye’s win, suggesting that her victory was driven by sympathy rather than merit.

He drew a comparison between her win and the state of Nigeria on its Independence Day, stressing the prevalence of pity and sympathy over meritocracy as a reflection of the nation’s stunted growth.
He said:
“As Nigeria celebrates her Independence, the winner of #BBNaijaAllStar may be a true reflection of the current state of Nigeria where pity and sympathy prevail against meritocracy. Is she deserving of it, only time will tell.”
