Many have been left in tears after a teacher committed suicide.
The teacher, identified as Panford Mweetwa, 46, who was recently transferred from Nsanjika Day Secondary School to Maguya Day Secondary School in Chipata District in Zambia ended it, noting that “he had been working very hard but had nothing to show what he had achieved”

He was alleged to have consumed unknown poisonous substance on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Mwami turn off.

Confirming the incident, the Eastern Province Deputy Commander, Stephen Mayoko said the deceased had told his wife he was going into Chipata town, however, around 10 Pm, Mr. Mweetwa was found unconscious.
He was subsequently rushed to Katandala clinic for treatment, but later transferred to another hospital, where he revealed he took poisonous substance to end his life.
He died the same day, and his body ja still the mortuary awaiting burial.
