The Athletics Integrity Unit’s June 2025 sanctions list shows Uko was penalized for a whereabouts-reporting failure on June 5, 2024; her suspension runs until July 23, 2026, and nullifies all results from that date.

In a social-media statement, the 2021 World U20 triple-gold medallist called the ban “a product of a flawed system” and said she repeatedly faced technical glitches with the federation’s online portal.
Despite contacting officials including Mbachi Louis, Mrs. Onos, and AFN Assistant Secretary Taldang, she claims they either ignored her or failed to provide promised support.
At her hearing, Uko challenged officials over their inaction; they allegedly offered only vague denials and accused her of filing incorrectly – an allegation she flatly rejects.
“This situation has exposed the corruption and negligence within the federation that is supposed to champion our rights as athletes,” – she wrote.
Uko, a triple gold medallist at the 2021 World U20 Championships, says her ban reflects system failure, not personal fault.
She vows to clear her name and urges fellow athletes to demand transparency and accountability.
