Importer of ‘Jihadist Drug’ Arrested After Six Months on The Run – NDLEA

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has disclosed it has apprehended one Nwoku Uche over the importation of 451,807 Captagon tablets, popularly known as ‘jihadist drug’.

Femi Babafemi, NDLEA spokesman, made this known in a statement issued on Sunday.

He said the 36-year-old suspect had been on the run for six months after importing the substance weighing 79.119kg through the Apapa Seaport, Lagos in September 2021.

Babafemi said: “In his statements, he claimed to have met the person who gave him the job on LinkedIn while he was paid N5m to clear the container,”

“He then used a third party bank account to process the Form M for the clearing of the illicit consignment.”
