“In 2019 I Dumped a Full Album To Record African Giant” – Burna Boy

Grammy winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy has revealed the reason behind his hit album, African Giant.
The music star noted that he recorded African Giant because he felt insulted by the Coachella incident of 2019.

Recall that in 2019, he was listed in the lineup of artistes to perform at Coachella, but his name was written in small fonts and he had difficulty locating his name.

Speaking during an interview on Billboard’s music Con, Burna Boy noted that he started addressing himself as the African Giant after that moment, and went ahead to make the Grammy winning album.

According to the ‘Dangote’ crooner, he said that he had another album ready to be released that period, but he dumped it, stating that the Coachella incident gave him the inspiration to record African Giant from scratch.
