The Ijaw National Congress (INC), has distanced itself and the entire Ijaw nation from the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

The apex Ijaw body also poured called water on a purported planned attack on personnel of the Nigerian military by Biafra.

INC Spokesperson, Engr. Ezonebi Oyakemeagbegha made the disclaimer while reacting to a statement by self-acclaimed leader of Biafrans in Exile, Simon Ekpa, promising let all hell loose on the Nigerian military over the alleged killing of Biafrans.

Engr. Oyakemeagbegha notified that the communities under view are not in the East and does not belong to Biafra warning Ekpa and his co-travelers to henceforth stop laying claim on same.

Okuama: Wanted Delta Monarch Surrenders to Police

He said, “The attention of the ljaw National Congress worldwide (INC) has been drawn to a recent publication by one Simon Ekpa, a factional leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB that has been making round on the social media on attacks on the Nigerian Army and to declare a Sit-at-Home in Delta and Bayelsa States respectively over what they termed targeted ethnic cleansing in both States by the Army.

“The INC had repeatedly condemned in strong terms, the attack on the military, and the killing of 17 soldiers of the Nigerian army at Okuama Community in Delta State
The INC also described the act to be very barbaric, sad, and unfortunate and called that the perpetrators of the heinous act be brought to book.

“The INC had called on the Federal Government and the Military on to apply utmost professionalism in the search for the culprits. The INC condemned the invasion of these communities and the destruction of innocent Iives and properties

“The same press statement by the IPOB alluded to the fact that the lgbomotoru community in the Bayelsa State and Okoloba community in Delta State are part of Biafra .The INC wants to make it abundantly clear that lgbomotoru and Okoloba are Ijaw communities and not part of Biafra. No inch of ljaw nation is part of Biafra

“The INC has said it earlier and will want to say it again for the records

“The INC completely disassociate its self from the actions and planned action of the IPOB of avenging the death of people in those places. The IPOB is not doing it in the interest of the Ijaw nation. This planned action is not taken on our behalf and for us.
The federal government and the general public should take note of this.

“The INC is calling on all Ijaw sons and daughters to remain calm and be vigilant.”
