The apex decision making body in Ijaw Nation, the Ijaw National Congress and its youthful arm, Ijaw Youth Council, has called for decorum and unity among Ijaw women across the globe.
The call was made on Tuesday by the INC National Woman Leader, Mrs Alali Danagogo, alongside her youthful counterpart, Comrade Tina Tobusi, IYC National Woman Leader.
According to the women, the call was premised on the need for Ijaw women across the globe to remain united under the umbrellas of the INC and IYC.

Mrs Danagogo stressed that women must collectively play their role in tackling the numerous challenges facing Ijaw Nation.
“The need for Ijaw women to collectively tackle the numerous challenges we face as a people cannot be overemphasized. We must support the course for emancipation in unity and oneness under the INC umbrella,” she said.
On her part, Comrade Tobusi called on the women to stay off any activities that are not in tandem with the unity of Ijaw women, or be found among elements causing disharmony in Ijaw Nation.
“We must prioritize the unity of our people at all times. Everyone knows that INC and IYC are the apex bodies in Ijaw Nation. And as such, whatever we do must be in line with the objectives of both organizations.
“Let’s eschew acts of disunity, betrayal and anything that will project a bad image about our people. We are one and must remain so,” Tobusi said.

The duo called on their colleagues to unanimously support the motives of the bodies and to as well avoid actions of division.
