The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the timely distribution of election materials to polling units across the Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State ahead of the November 2024 gubernatorial election.
The exercise began early on Saturday morning at the Anglican Primary School, which serves as both a Registration Area Centre (RAC) and polling station.
Polling Unit Officers, alongside National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, gathered at the centre to collect the necessary materials, while security personnel, including policemen, were on hand to escort the materials to their respective units.
Early voters were seen checking their names on the voter’s list, preparing for the commencement of the exercise.

“We started the distribution on time and our polling unit officers left early. Hopefully, the election will start as scheduled. No room for delay,” the official explained.
As the distribution continued, some local vendors seized the opportunity to sell food, drinks, and other items to those gathered at the centre.
The officials emphasized that everything was being done to guarantee the smooth conduct of the election and ensure that no logistical issues disrupt the process when the polling stations open later in the day.
