The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced uploading the results from the Saturday, September 21 governorship election in Edo State onto its Result Viewing Portal.
As of 4:12 PM, a total of 50.67% (2,439 of 4,519) of the results have been uploaded.
According to the Edo Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Anugbum Onuoha, the ongoing governorship election results will be transmitted electronically. “Only poor network can stop the electronic transmission of results,” Onuoha said in an interview with Arise Television on Saturday.

Onuoha emphasized that INEC has prepared for contingencies by providing 660 backup Bimodal Voter Accreditation Systems (BVAS). “We have trained the operators for the BVAS. They are set. BVAS is to accredit the voters, to know the total number of voters that will vote at that level, that pulling unit,” he explained.
When asked if all election results would be transmitted electronically, Onuoha confirmed, “Yes, unless there is no network in that place. If not, it will. We will transmit it.”
