The presidential campaign spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Dino Melaye has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, of entering wrong figures into the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS.

Melaye made the accusation in a post via his Twitter handle on Monday.

The former lawmaker also promised to expose any “wrong imputation” and change in figures by the commission as it transferred results to the backend server.

The spokesman also vowed to jail any INEC staff behind the matter.

Daily Report Nigeria recalls that Commission earlier received an order from the Court to allow it to reconfigure the BVAS.

This was for the preparation for the upcoming March 18 gubernatorial election.

Meanwhile, Malaye said in his tweet:

“INEC is doing the wrong thing, wrong imputation going on. We will expose any wrong imputation and figures changing as upload and backend transfer is going on. We will shock INEC and the ICT department. Jail loading for many.”

Election Materials: ‘We Have Nothing to Hide,’ INEC Tells Labour Party

Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has told the legal team of the Labour Party that it has nothing to hide with regard to the party’s demand to inspect election materials used for the 2023 presidential poll.

This is as the electoral umpire vowed to provide all documents requested by the party for its ongoing suit against the commission and the president-elect, Bola Tinubu, before the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, gave the assurance when the head Labour Party’s legal team, Dr Livy Uzoukwu, led a 60-man legal team to a meeting with representatives of the party on Monday, in Abuja.

The meeting was to discuss modalities to enable the party to obtain the documents from the commission.

Yakubu further assured that all Resident Electoral Commissioners at state levels will also make the necessary documents available to the party.

He said;

“INEC has nothing to hide. Documents available at the HQ will be given immediately. We are meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners today and we will discuss how other documents at the state level could also be made available to you speedily.”
