This decision was made after stakeholders appealed for an extension to enable more voters to collect their cards.

According to INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, “The Commission has granted a three-day extension from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th September 2024.

The cards will be available for collection in our 18 Local Government offices across the State from 9 am to 5 pm daily.

Olumekun emphasized that “no collection by proxy will be allowed” and urged all registered voters who are yet to collect their PVCs to take advantage of the extension.

This development comes ahead of the Edo State governorship election scheduled for next week. INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, and Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, addressed stakeholders and their concerns regarding electoral processes and security matters during an interactive meeting in Benin City.
