The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that only delegates produced by congresses they monitored would be recognized.

In a statement signed by Rose Oriaran-Anthony, INEC’s
secretary noted that the commission made its decision on section 84 (1) of the electoral act 2022.

The act reads: “A political party seeking to nominate candidates for elections under this act shall hold primaries for aspirants to all elective positions which shall be monitored by the commission.”
