IPOB Challenges Soludo on Sit-at-Home Orders

Anambra: Supreme Court Confirms Soludo as APGA Governoship Candidate | Daily Report Nigeria

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has responded strongly to Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo, urging him to refrain from intimidating residents over the ongoing sit-at-home order.

This protest, observed across Southeast states, has been a response to the continued detention of pro-Biafran leader Nnamdi Kanu since his arrest in June 2021.

Governor Soludo recently warned that businesses defying the sit-at-home order would face severe consequences, including shop closures for up to a month.

However, IPOB spokesperson Emma Powerful stated that the sit-at-home practice is a voluntary act of solidarity with Kanu, reflecting deep-rooted affection among Biafrans.

Powerful emphasized that the protests would persist until Kanu is released, declaring, “You cannot stop it by force.”

He criticized the Southeast governors for not adequately advocating for Kanu’s release, asserting that their failure to visit the Nigerian President to formally request his freedom has contributed to the unrest.
