Irish Chef Dethrones Hilda Baci, Breaks Longest Cooking Marathon Record

In a remarkable culinary achievement, Alan Fisher, an Irish chef and owner of a restaurant in Japan, has broken the Guinness World Record (GWR)’s longest cooking marathon record by an individual.

Fisher’s feat surpassed the previous record held by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci by more than 24 hours.

Baci’s remarkable record had stood at 93 hours and 11 minutes12.

On November 7, 2023, Fisher shattered not one but two Guinness World Records titles, leaving the culinary world in awe.

The Irish Chef embarked on an extraordinary cooking marathon, dedicating himself to the kitchen for an astounding 119 hours and 57 minutes.

His culinary odyssey spanned over five days, during which he cooked tirelessly, breaking barriers and pushing the limits of human endurance.

Not content with just one record, Alan then turned his attention to baking.

With unwavering focus, he baked his way into history, achieving a staggering 47 hours and 21 minutes of continuous baking.

The previous baking record, held by Wendy Sandner (USA), stood at 31 hours and 16 minutes.

He tackled both records consecutively. With just over a day of rest in between, he clocked a total of over 160 hours in the kitchen.

A post shared by the Guinness World Records on their X account on Tuesday said:

“Nigerian cooking queen Hilda Baci has been dethroned 😳

“Alan Fisher from Ireland cooked for an incredible 119 hours and 57 minutes at his restaurant in Japan 🥄.”
