The Israeli military said it recently destroyed an underground bunker in Tehran that was originally built for Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. Israeli officials claimed the facility was still being used by senior Iranian officials.
According to the IDF, around 50 fighter jets carried out the operation, dropping approximately 100 bombs on the location. The strikes reportedly hit several streets in the area, with multiple entry points targeted during the bombardment.
There has been no immediate response from Iranian authorities regarding the reported attack.
Meanwhile, the humanitarian situation in the region is worsening. The United Nations said nearly 100,000 people in Lebanon have fled their homes as the conflict intensifies.
Many Syrian refugees living in Lebanon have also returned to Syria, seeking safety amid the escalating hostilities.
The Israeli military has also ordered residents to evacuate parts of Beirut’s southern suburbs, stating that the strikes are aimed at positions where the group Hezbollah is believed to be operating.
