The Israeli government has expressed readiness to support Nigeria in tackling insecurity, particularly the killings of Christians, through enhanced intelligence cooperation.
Israel’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Michael Freeman, disclosed this during an interview on Monday, revealing that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is willing to partner with Nigerian authorities in addressing security challenges affecting Christian communities.

According to Freeman, Israel is open to providing intelligence support, but the scope and structure of such collaboration would depend on the Nigerian government’s direction.

He stressed that sensitive intelligence matters would remain confidential.
“We will be guided by the Nigerian government on where and how we can partner to address insecurity within the country,” Freeman said, adding that intelligence sharing cannot be discussed publicly to avoid undermining its effectiveness.
The ambassador clarified that Netanyahu’s remarks were not exclusive to Nigeria but reflected Israel’s broader concern for the safety of Christians globally.
He noted that Israel remains the only country in the Middle East where the Christian population is growing, underscoring the country’s commitment to religious protection.
Freeman reiterated that Israel stands ready to collaborate discreetly with Nigeria to enhance security and stability, particularly in areas vulnerable to violent attacks.
