  • Davido defended his use of private jets, saying it’s his “birth right” and mocking critics who are pained by his luxury lifestyle.
  • The singer joked that in his next life, he’d return as a vulcaniser to avoid being trolled for wealth.
  • He reiterated that despite his hard work, many still reduce his success to his billionaire background.

Afrobeats star Davido has responded to critics who frequently ridicule him over his affluent background and access to luxury.

The singer, whose father is Nigerian billionaire Adedeji Adeleke, fired back after being trolled online for regularly flaunting his father’s jets. Unfazed by the backlash, Davido declared that flying private is his entitlement from birth.

“This free jet wey I dey fly all around the world dey really pain una. I’m sorry it’s my birth right. In my next life, I go come back as vulcaniser. Ma binu,” he wrote on X.

He didn’t stop there. Davido also addressed those who attempt to undermine his accomplishments because of his wealthy background, suggesting that their criticism is rooted in resentment. In a mocking tone, he joked that he would return in his next life as a vulcaniser to avoid being judged for enjoying wealth.

This isn’t the first time the DMW boss has tackled this narrative. He had once revealed that his privileged upbringing is a major reason some people in the music industry dislike him. According to Davido, despite his consistent hard work and success, many still attribute his achievements solely to family wealth.
