IYC Accuses Agip of Masterminding Ethnic Cleansing in Niger Delta

The Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide, IYC, has accused the Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC) of perpetrating intentional ethnic cleansing in the Niger Delta region.

The apex coalition of Ijaw youths across the globe had in a letter dated December 11th, 2020 and titled NAOC Management Deliberate Incitement to Violence Which is Capable of Causing Breakdown of Law and Order, tabled series of alleging facts pointed against the oil firm.

Also, the Nigerian Agip Oil Company had attempted to water down the allegations pointed at it in a reply letter dated December 14th, 2020.

However, in a follow up letter dated January 5th, 2020 and obtained by Daily Report Nigeria, the IYC has reiterated it’s claims by vehemently and emphatically labelling Agip as a masterminded of the deliberate ethnic cleansing and marginalization of Niger Deltans.

The IYC calls for Agip to withdraw it’s letter and tender a public apology on the baseless and distorted facts it stated therein, among other recommendations.

The letter signed by Comrade Saviour Olali and Hon Pongoyo Eldred Digimie, Vice President and Speaker of Parliament respectively thus reads;
