A spokesperson candidate in the 2023 elections of the Ijaw Youths Council (IYC), Apostle Semighan Dickson has called for calm among Ijaw youths.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that Semighan’s call comes on the heels of the subsequent postponement of the elections earlier scheduled for Wednesday July 19, 2023.

Reacting to the development, the Egbema-born activist charged members of the apex Ijaw youth body to remain calm and firm in the process of electing a new leadership.

Semighan also extended commendation to the electoral committee and founding fathers for their timely intervention in the process.

In a terse statement on Thursday, Semighan said;

“Dear Comrades and delegate,
I sincerely appreciate you all for your understanding and having faith in the ELECO and founding fathers of our great struggle.

“Let us remain resolute and calm as there will be light at the tunnel in the end.”

The elective convention which held at Ijaw Ware in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital was greatly marred with rowdiness prior to its postponement.
