– Declares support for Jonathan Lokpobiri led IYC NEC
The Obotebe Clan structure of the Ijaw Youth Council has slammed its Vice Chairman, Sam Akemotubo an indefinite suspension.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that the move followed a unanimous decision to caution Akemotubo over a display of questionable behaviour.

Arising from an emergency meeting on Thursday, the Clan resolved that Akemotubio be suspended indefinitely for ‘gross misconduct’ and disobedience to ‘constituted authority’.

Speaking to our correspondent after the brief meeting, Elder Clement Ololobou explained that “Akemotubo connived with external parties without the interest of the Clan at heart to perpetrate several illegalities at the recent IYC national elections.”
Ololobou added that “he went against an agreement reached by the entire Clan and generated a factional delegate list in a bid to puncture the peaceful transition process of the National Executive Council.
“For his gross misconduct and attempt to usurp the authority of the Clan, he is hereby suspended indefinitely from our activities,” he said.
The Clan also expressed its support for the IYC President, Jonathan Lokpobiri and the entire 9th NEC, adding that Ijaw nation is on the right path.
“We also extend congratulations to the brand new IYC President, Jonathan Lokpobiri and the entire NEC on their emergence. We are convinced that Council will thrive in the right direction under their watch.”
