The Ijaw Youth Council, Western Zone, on Wednesday met with the Nigerian Navy Ship Delta in Warri, Delta State.
The meeting was part of a resolve by the 9th Zonal Executive Council led by Nicholas Igarama to partner with all critical stakeholders and relevant security authorities in the discharge of its duties.
During his presentation, Comrade Igarama noted that the Executives, who were elected on June 5, 2024 saw the visit as a necessity to synergize with the NNS Delta.

Igarama emphasized that his administration was open to partnering with the Navy for peace, security and progress in the Zone.

The Chairman, accompanied by all nine other members of the 9th Zonal Executive Council and other members of Council, further commended the NNS for commitment to ensuring peace in the waterways.
Reacting, the Commander NNS Delta, CDR Mushin Yahaya Abba poured encomiums on the IYC Western Zone for deeming it fit to seek partnership with relevant security institutions in its activities.
Commander Abba commended the way Council is structured from national, chapters, parliament and to clans, describing it as an “well organized pressure group”.
The Commander subsequently opened the “doors of partnership to the IYC Western Zone,” assuring them of “rendering the needed support at every point of call”.
Abba reiterated that the NNS Delta was “ready to render support in guidance and protection to the IYC”, charging Council “not to hesitate putting a call across”.
The 9th Zonal Executive of the IYC Western Zone has continued to liaise with critical sectors and stakeholders since its emergence, drawing commendation from within and outside Council.
