Jailbreaks: 3,906 Inmates Still At Large – Aregbesola

Minister of interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has disclosed a total of 3,906 inmates who escaped from different custodial centres in the country are still at large.

The former governor of Osun who made this known while speaking at a media briefing organised by the presidential media team at the presidential villa, Abuja, on Thursday, said a total of 4,369 inmates escaped from different custodial centres from 2020 to date.

He said out of that figure, 984 inmates have been recaptured.

“How long can they continue to run from the state? The state is a patient bird. You can run but you can never hide,” the minister said

“We have their biometrics. Whenever and wherever they appear to transact any business, their cover will be blown.”
