The Nigeria Correctional Service (NCS) has disclosed it plans to publish names and pictures of over 1,500 fleeing inmates from the custodial facilities in Edo and Ondo states.
Recall that suspected hoodlums had attacked the Okitipupa prison in Ondo state on Thursday, October 22, and the Benin and Oko prisons in Edo state on Monday, October 19, resulting to the escape of inmates from the respective custodian facilities.
NCS Spokesman, DCC Austin Njoku, while speaking on the prison attacks confirmed that 1,993 inmates broke out from the two prisons in Edo state, while 58 reportedly escaped from the Ondo Correctional Facility.

DCC Njoku assured that the Service is equally mobilising various intelligence and security resources to recapture the fleeing inmates.
“We are mobilising the people and the press for information because to inject the number of such people into the society is a problem. Imagine over 1,000 criminals injected into society?
“We are mobilising the intelligence agencies, the police and the DSS (Department of State Services). We are publishing their names and pictures very soon,” he said.
