  • JAMB has released the results of the 2025 UTME resit exam for 315,763 candidates after resolving system glitches at affected centres, with 21,082 candidates absent.

  • The Board highlighted issues of examination malpractice involving some candidates and CBT centres.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of results for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) resit exam, which involved 315,763 candidates affected by earlier system glitches.

Of the total scheduled candidates, 21,082 were absent. JAMB Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, Ph.D., revealed that serious examination irregularities involving candidates and some CBT centre proprietors were uncovered during the process.

A sub-committee chaired by Prof. Olufemi Peters, Vice-Chancellor of the National Open University and Chief External Examiner (CEE) for FCT, thoroughly reviewed the resit exam results. The results were subsequently endorsed by psychometrics expert Prof. Boniface Nworgu. Benjamin warned candidates against participating in illicit activities like “WhatsApp runs” and confirmed that those implicated in malpractice would have their results withdrawn and face prosecution. He also stressed that the Board has blacklisted some CBT centres involved in these irregularities.

Security agencies played a key role in uncovering complex malpractices, including hacking of CBT centre networks, AI-driven impersonation, and fingerprint fraud.

Despite these challenges, JAMB affirmed the security of its central server and commended the resilience of candidates and support from partners such as WAEC and ABU Zaria. “JAMB assures the nation of continuous sincere and dedicated service,” the statement added.
