Rodriguez who joined Everton from Real Madrid for £20 million in 2020 has had a brilliant start at Goodison Park.

Even so, he ran out of luck when Carlo Ancelotti who then took charge until the end of last season, lost faith in him drop by drop.

Benitez arrived in the close-season and did not involve Rodriguez in a single game before authorizing his sale.

As a result, the 30 year old star left the club for Al-Rayyan after falling out of favour at the Premier League club.

Rodriguez had tripped to Qatar during weekend to complete his move as the transfer window in the Middle East still open till the end of the month.

The attacking midfielder and wenger for Al-Rayyan had been handed Jersey Number 10, though he didnt feature in their last game against Al-Sadd.

The game played on Wednesday, ended in a loss(2-4) for his team which has no single win in 3 games, with 2 draws and a loss.

Benitez, Everton Coach described Rodriguez’s imminent departure as a “special situation” following the club’s League Cup defeat at QPR on Tuesday.

Rodriguez, who was once considered as a potential superstar while in Madrid now left Everton with just 6 goals in 26 appearances.
