Jamie Carragher Explains Klopp-Salah Touchline Clash During Liverpool’s Draw with West Ham

Jamie Carragher on Salah and Kloop

Former Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher offered his thoughts on the reason behind the heated exchange between manager Jürgen Klopp and Mohamed Salah on the touchline during Liverpool’s match against West Ham on Saturday.

Carragher explained that the clash happened because Salah took too long to get ready to come on as a substitute.

In a post on X, Carragher wrote, “The only reason a manager would be unhappy in this situation is if the player took too long to be ready to come on.”

Salah had started the game on the bench, and Klopp decided to bring him on with Liverpool leading 2-1. However, while waiting on the touchline for a stoppage in play, Michail Antonio scored to make it 2-2.

This led to a heated argument between Klopp and Salah, with Darwin Núñez needing to step in to separate them.
