La Liga president Javier Tebas has singled out Real Madrid forward Vinícius Júnior as the most deserving candidate for the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
Vinícius is among the leading contenders for the prestigious award following an exceptional season with Real Madrid.
Tebas is convinced that the 24-year-old Brazilian should be the one to win it. France Football, the organizers of the Ballon d’Or, recently announced a 30-man shortlist for the 2024 edition, and seven of those players are from Real Madrid, including Vinícius.

Real Madrid’s success last season, with victories in La Liga, the Champions League, and the Supercopa de España, has put several of their players in the spotlight for the award.
While many consider Vinícius the favorite, he faces stiff competition from the likes of his teammate Jude Bellingham, as well as Kylian Mbappé and Dani Carvajal, all of whom are also strong contenders.
Despite this, Javier Tebas remains confident that Vinícius was the standout player in world football last season. Speaking to Madrid Xtra on X (formerly Twitter), Tebas said, “Ballon d’Or? Vinícius is a different player. He deserves it.”
