Reports suggested that all nineteen states occupied by northern Muslims have banned Nigeria singer, Davido’s songs.

Davido was recently lambasted for posting a now-deleted “offensive music video” on Instagram.

The 45-second clip titled “Jaye Lo” was music featuring his signee, Logos Olori.

Muslim devotees saw the video as an offense due to a scene portraying men dancing in front of a mosque instead of praying.

The ban came a few hours after some northerners, including Nuhu Ali, and Bashir Ahmad rebuked Davido for promoting something tagged disrespectful to Islamic beliefs.

Waspapping, a northern social media influencer revealed on Twitter that a ban has been placed on Davido and his songs not to be played publicly in Kano and Sokoto.

Also, videos online captured some northern Muslims tearing and removing fliers, photos, and posters of the singer from public places.

One @Sarki_sultan said on Twitter:
To all Muslims around the 19 Northern Nigeria states, we Ban selling, sharing and listening to all Davido songs and we ban all Radio stations from playing it here in the Norths. Let this message circulate all Northern states.”
