Jon Jones has officially stepped away from the UFC, thereby, terminating his heavyweight title run of two years.
The disclosure took fans andthe MMA community by surprise.

Meanwhile, the disclosure was made during a press conference in Baku, Azerbaijan.
UFC President Dana White revealed that Jones had personally called late Friday night to say he was done.
Moreover, Jones jumped onto his official X account to show his appreciation to everyone who backed him. He wrote:
“From my first walk into the Octagon to becoming the youngest UFC champion, every fight pushed me to new limits. I’m grateful for the highs and the tough moments—they made me stronger in and out of the cage.”
Therefore, even as he steps away from fighting, he hinted he’ll stick around the sport in fresh roles.
Jones ends his run with a stellar 28-1 record.
In March 2023, he won the vacant heavyweight title after first becoming the youngest light heavyweight champion.
Notably, he defeated Stipe Miocic in November 2023 in his last defence.
