Comedian Chibuike Josh Alfred, better known as Josh2Funny, has addressed the competitive landscape of the Nigerian comedy and content-creating industry. He criticized claims that there is no competition, calling them misleading.
Josh2Funny, however, stated that he views himself as unmatched in the comedy scene, noting that his skits are translated into various languages across Europe and Asia. He expressed frustration over some colleagues who replicate his trends and styles without giving him credit.
Speaking on ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, he said, “I won’t tolerate people copying my ideas without acknowledging me. There is definitely competition in the comedy industry. Right now, my comedy is translated into Mandarin, Hindi, Russian, French, and other languages. I’m not on the same level as others in this industry.”
