A man has been sentenced to death after being found guilty of murder in Lagos state.
The accused, Andrew Ominikoron was sentenced after being found guilty of murdering a woman, Oluwabamise Ayanwola in the state.

Daily Report Nigeria recalls that the accused, a BRT driver was said to have killed Bamise after she was last seen on February 26, 2022 after being driven by him at the Ajah axis of Lagos.
It was gathered that Bamise’s lifeless body was found on Carter Bridge in Lagos Island.
Delivering judgement in the Lagos State High Court, the presiding judge, Justice Sherifat Sonaike found the defendant guilty of murdering the 22-year-old victim.
Ominikoron was arraigned on a five-count charge bordering on murder, conspiracy, and rape, in connection with the death of Ayanwola, as well as the sexual assault of Dr. Anosike Victoria and the rape of one Maryland Ojiezelu.
Justice Sherifat, in a ruling today, Friday, April 2 sentenced him to death by hanging.
For the death of Oluwabamise Ayanwola, you will be hanged by the neck until you are dead. May God have mercy upon you,” the judge declared in her pronouncement.
