The Federal Government has announced an increase in the fees for obtaining an international passport, effective September 1, 2024.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that the decision aims to ensure the maintenance of high-quality and secure passports, aligning with global standards.

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), responsible for issuing passports, revealed the new fees through their Public Relations Officer (PRO), KT Udo in a press statement dated August 21, 2024.

According to the statement, the key changes to the fees are:

– The 32-page passport booklet, previously priced at N35,000, will now cost N50,000. This passport has a five-year validity period.

– The 64-page passport booklet, previously priced at N70,000, will now cost N100,000. This passport has a 10-year validity period.
