JUST IN: Fire Guts Ministry Of Works Headquarters In Abuja

  • Many have ran for safety as fire breaks out at the headquarters of the Federal Ministry of Works.

  • Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the incident, which happened immediately workers began working was said to have been caused by a spark.

A fire incident has caused panic at the Federal Ministry of Works headquarters in Abuja.

The outbreak was said to have occured following a spark from a faulty circuit breaker on the ground floor.

According to reports from the Director of Press and PRO of the ministry, Mohammed A. Ahmed, the incident was quickly contained before much damage was done.

“A minor fire incident occurred at 11:30 am at Block A of the Ministry.”

Fire fighters from the Federal Fire Service graced the scene as they made all possible efforts to put out the fire.

The Station Commander, Kakai Bekebi said;

“A successful evacuation of staff was carried out,”

 

Also confirming the incident, the Director of Human Resources Management, Aliyu Abdullahi said;

“No documents were lost, and there were no casualties,” Abdullahi remarked, praising the staff’s conduct during the evacuation.
