Residents scamper to safety, as fire guts a building in Anambra State.

The cause of the outbreak is yet to be ascertained, but it reportedly began in the early hours of Friday, March 28.
Residents are currently in a state of panic, following a fire outbreak in Anambra State.
According to reports, fire engulfed a two-storey building at Ifejika Street, by Sokoto Road, Onitsha.
Eyewitnesses confirmed the fire to have started in one of the building at about 6:20am, and has now escalated into a nearby building.
Residents could be seen making efforts to remove some valuables from the building.
Confirming the incident in a statement released on Friday, the head of the Media and Publicity Unit, Anambra State Fire service, Chukwudi Chiketa said;
Anambra State Fire Service is currently on intervention at the scene of the fire outbreak at Ifejika Street, by Sokoto Road, Onitsha.
“The distress call came at 0620am today, and our firefighters deployed immediately
“The public is advised to remain calm as the situation is under control,” he added
