JAMB Suspends 8 universities from admitting law students.

  • JAMB has prevented some universities in Nigeria from admitting law students.

  • The suspension was ordered on January 29, 2025, which affected a total of 8 universities.

  • Redeemers University and seven others were affected.

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB has announced the suspension of law degree programme in eight universities.

According to reports, all existing law students would be allowed to finish their programme, but there would be no new intake starting from the 2025/2026 academic session.

JAMB Suspends 8 universities from admitting law students.
Confirming the news, the spokesperson of the board, Fabian Benjamin said this decision comes after the the Council of Legal Education suspended the Bachelor of Laws programme.

Benjamin said;

“As a result, JAMB will not approve any admissions for candidates seeking to enroll in the Law programme at the aforementioned universities for the 2025/2026 academic session.

 

List of universities suspended from law programmes

1. Kwara State University Malete, Ilorin, Kwara State

2. Bingham University, Karu, Nasarawa State

3. Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State,

4. Redeemers University, Ede, Osun State

 

5. Western Delta University, Oghara, Delta State.

6. Taraba State University, Jalingo, Taraba State

7. Arthur Jarvis University, Akpabuyo, Cross River State

8. Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State

“Furthermore, the ban on registration for the Law programme at the Nigerian Police Academy will extend into the 2026/2027 academic session”, he added

 

Pregnant Patient Goes Missing from Enugu Psychiatric Hospital

A 32-year-old pregnant patient, Miss Blessing Nzubechi Igwe, has gone missing from the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Enugu.

The patient’s brother, Israel Nwachinemere Igwe, alleged that a hospital staff raped and impregnated his sister.
