  • President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has revealed new strategies of reducing government expenditures.
  • The president, in a latest directive has limited the amount of convoy for ministers, amongst other things.

President Tinubu has taken a new step in the reduction of government expenditures, as he sets new limitations on the official convoy of ministers.

In a new directive issued on Thursday, October 24, he limited the number of vehicles per officials to maximum of three, adding that no additional vehicles will be assigned to them.

 

In the directive, he also stated that each minister or government agency has allowed to have a maximum of five security personnel, comprising four police officers and one officer from the Department of State Services (DSS).

Using himself as an example, the president had reduced his escorts during official trips, cutting the number of officials accompanying him abroad from 50 to 20, and for local trips, it was reduced to 25.

The Vice President’s entourage has also been trimmed to five officials for international trips and 15 for domestic travels.
