Juventus Football Club have parted ways with manager Thiago Motta after a tough nine months.
The club announced that former player Igor Tudor will step in as head coach for the remainder of the Serie A season.
Thiago Motta’s Tenure and Challenges
Motta’s time at the helm was marked by some significant challenges, including a couple of heavy losses—most notably a 3-0 defeat to Fiorentina and a 4-0 drubbing at home against Atalanta.
These results have left Juventus sitting in fifth place in Serie A, just one point shy of the Champions League qualification spots.
Igor Tudor’s Interim Appointment and Objectives
Igor Tudor, who is 46, is back at Juventus with a solid background in coaching.
His experience includes managing teams like Hajduk Split, Galatasaray, Udinese, Hellas Verona, and Marseille, along with a brief stint at Lazio.
He also served as an assistant coach at Juventus during the 2020–21 season under Andrea Pirlo.

Tudor’s main goal will be to stabilize the team’s performance and aim for a top-four finish to secure Champions League football for next season.
His first match in charge will be a home game against Genoa in Serie A.

As for the long-term future, Juventus are taking a careful approach by bringing Tudor on board temporarily.
This gives them the chance to explore other managerial options for the future.
There are whispers that the club might be eyeing some big names, like Antonio Conte, Gian Piero Gasperini, or Roberto De Zerbi, for the summer.
