In the footage, Khalil accused the ruling party of planning to channel large sums of money to religious leaders and traditional rulers in northern Nigeria in order to influence political support during the upcoming election cycle.

According to him, representatives of the party allegedly contacted him directly as part of the effort.

“They have budgeted 500 billion Naira to mobilize Mallams and traditional rulers so that they can campaign for them. They invited me to join the projects but I rejected the offer with a warning to never bring something like this to me,” he said.

The video was first broadcast by Rigasa TV News and has since generated strong reactions across social media.

Many Nigerians have expressed concern about the implications of the allegation, especially at a time when the country is facing rising inflation and a high cost of living.

Others, however, have questioned the credibility of the claim and called for evidence to support the allegation.

A review of the proposed 2026 federal budget has not revealed any publicly listed allocation corresponding to the ₦500 billion figure mentioned by the cleric.

As of the time of reporting, there has been no official response from the APC regarding the allegation.
