Speaking at the event, the Head of Service, Jummai Bako, praised Uba Sani for restoring the programme, describing the move as a sign of balanced leadership.
According to her, the decision shows that the present administration recognises the importance of spiritual growth alongside physical, social and economic development.
Also speaking, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Information, Ahmed Maiyaki, said the return of the pilgrimage programme reflects the government’s commitment to fairness, justice and inclusiveness.
Maiyaki urged the pilgrims to pray for peace, unity and continued progress in Kaduna State and Nigeria as a whole.
The last Christian pilgrimage sponsored by the Kaduna State Government took place in November 2014, when 567 pilgrims were airlifted from the state airport to Israel.
The development has been warmly welcomed by the Christian community in the state.
The Kaduna State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria commended the governor for what it described as a renewed commitment to Christian pilgrimage.
In a statement signed by its state chairman, Reverend Maaji Caleb, the association said the government’s support for the 2025 pilgrimage reflects inclusiveness and a deliberate effort to promote unity and spiritual balance.
According to CAN, the move marks a major step toward restoring confidence among Christian communities and strengthening interfaith harmony across Kaduna State.
