A local government chairman in Kano state has been arrested by an anti corruption agency.

The chairman is alleged to have sold a stadium land for millions of naira.

The agency is currently investigating the chairman concerning the illegal land sale.
Men of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission have arrested a local government chairman for fraud.
The chairman of the Kiru Local Government Area in Kano State, Abdullahi Mohammed was arrested following complaints of him illegally selling a land meant for a mini stadium.
He is said to have sold the stadium for hundred million naira.

Confirming his arrest, the anti-graft agency noted that a total of #240 million was received into Anar Mohammed’s account between November 1, 2024, when he assumed office, and February 27, 2025.

The agency added that the money has been recovered, and Mohammed is currently cooperating with the agency concerning the illegal land sale.
