Other defendants include Abubakar Bawuro, Umar Abdullahi Umar, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Properties Ltd, Safari Textiles Ltd, and Lasage General Enterprises Ltd.

The trial has faced repeated delays, slowing the start of substantive proceedings. During Wednesday’s session, prosecution counsel Jedidiah Akpata informed the court that they were not ready to continue.

He requested permission to file additional motions and more time to respond to defence applications.

Akpata noted that the prosecution had filed motions on November 19, 20, and 24, 2025, seeking extensions to reply to various requests and preliminary objections raised by the sixth defendant.

Meanwhile, defence teams representing Ganduje, his wife, and son, led by Lydia Oluwakemi-Oyewo, confirmed readiness to proceed but did not oppose the prosecution’s request. Lawyers for the third and seventh defendants, including Chief M. N. Duru, SAN, as well as Abdul Adamu-Fagge, SAN, Abubakar Ahmad, and Abdulrazaq A. Ahmed, also indicated preparedness for hearing.

Justice Amina Adamu-Aliyu approved the prosecution’s application and adjourned the trial to February 3, 2026, when all pending motions will be addressed.
