A Kano State High Court has issued a restraining order preventing the EFCC and Police from arresting and detaining the Chief of Staff to the Kano State Government, Shehu Wada Sagagi. The order also prohibits harassment, intimidation, or molestation of Sagagi by these authorities.

The case stems from allegations of diversion of Federal Government palliatives leveled against Sagagi by the Northern Youth Merger Group, affiliated with the APC. Sagagi has denied the accusations.

Justice Aisha Yau’s order provides temporary relief for Sagagi, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice. The court has adjourned the case to September 3, 2024.
