A residential building located along Hotoro Ring Road in Nassarawa Local Government Area of Kano State was reduced to ashes after a fire outbreak occurred on Tuesday morning, November 11, 2025.

The incident was confirmed on Wednesday by the Public Relations Officer of the Kano Fire Service, ACFO Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi, who stated that the service received an emergency call around 9:20 a.m. from a resident identified as Alhaji Halliru Ibrahim.

According to Abdullahi, firemen from Central and Bompai Fire Stations were immediately dispatched to the location.

“When our team arrived, the entire upper section of the one-storey building was already engulfed in flames,” he said.

The affected structure, measuring about 75 by 100 feet, consisted of two bedrooms, two parlours, three toilets, two kitchens, a staircase, stores, a balcony, and a corridor. All of these were completely destroyed before the firefighting team could bring the situation under control.

Abdullahi also revealed that three jet hoses from the command’s firefighting units were used to battle the blaze. He added that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire outbreak.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Kano Fire Service, Alhaji Sani Anas, appealed to residents to adopt basic fire-safety habits, including switching off electrical appliances before leaving home and exercising caution when handling anything that could trigger fire.
