Governor Abba Yusuf has removed Engr. Buba Galadima as Chairman of the Governing Council of Kano State Polytechnic.
The decision was announced on Saturday in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa.

In the same statement, the government confirmed the appointment of the Emir of Gaya, Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, as the new Chairman of the institution’s Governing Council.
The government said the change followed ongoing internal reforms at the polytechnic, aligned with the administration’s Kano First Agenda.
According to the statement, although the Governing Council’s tenure is three years, Galadima’s appointment was terminated before its expiration to allow for reforms aimed at improving institutional performance.

“Although the tenure of the Governing Council is for a period of three years, the appointment of the Chairman was terminated before expiration due to ongoing reforms for optimal performance of the polytechnic,” the statement read.
Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to Galadima for his service to the institution and wished him success in his future endeavours.
He also tasked the new chairman with repositioning the polytechnic, urging him to leverage his leadership experience to strengthen academic standards and administrative efficiency at the school.
